I took my little guy to get his first pair of big boy shoes today. He has been walking for awhile and since he’s started walking outside the time has come to retire those sweet Robeez boots and get him his first pair of hard sole shoes. My first stop was to a little shop that sells the Robeez Tredz. We tried them on and they just didn’t fit my little guy very well. Our next stop was to Dillards where his foot was measured and the saleslady then told me she couldn’t help me, they only sell shoes for “normal width feet”. After learning that my sons feet are abnormally wide I headed off to Stride Rite in hopes of finding the perfect pair of shoes. I did find the perfect pair; the NMS Prodigy in Navy/Cinder. They didn’t have my sons size so I headed home to order them from their website. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise! With me living in the great state of Arkansas I don’t have to pay sales tax when ordering online from Stride Rite. I also searched and found a coupon code for 15% off the order. I ended up spending less for the shoes including expedited shipping than I would have if I had been able to purchase them in the store. Now I just have to wait 3-4 days for them to arrive.

I’m a little sad to be retiring the Robeez boots. My daughter wore them all last winter and my son wore them all this winter. They both started walking wearing these boots. I think I’m going to pack them away and put them in a memory box. I really don’t think I can let them go, its hard enough watching them grow up so fast. Giving these boots away would be like throwing memories away. I’d love to pull them out of a box in 20 years and tell the kids the story of how they both wore them.
