Last night I had one of those wonderful Mommy moments that will be etched in your mind forever. About 12:30am my little guy started fussing and when I went upstairs to get him I could here this soft little voice singing underneath his cries. I got to the top of the stairs, stood outside the door for a second and realized it was my sweet little girl singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to her baby brother and trying to soothe him back to sleep. I opened the door and was greeted by the bright little face of a two year old in a pink sleeper and tousled hair. Her sweet little voice said to me “Hi Mommy uh-oh Boo’s crying”. It was one of those moments that makes you really proud to be a mother. My heart was so full at that very moment that it brought a tear to my eye.
I picked Ethan up and tucked Georgie back to bed. I was given a kiss and a “miss you Mommy” which translated means love you Mommy. I didn’t think it could get any better than that but when I got downstairs with my little man he and I snuggled on the couch and dozed on and off for a little while. I eventually put him back to bed but I really enjoyed those cuddles. I closed my eyes and could smell his sweet baby breath and it took me back to a time when he was only a couple of months old. These little guys grow up so fast; thank goodness I’ll have all these wonderful memories to hold on to.
